Welding is a useful skill to have if you are a do-it-yourself, home project type of person. It is a talent that can come in handy if you want to, for example, construct or repair metal projects around your home, or work on perhaps an automobile. If this interests you, then you will want to know about the stick welder.

If you are completely new to welding, it can be a bit intimidating. Welding is fun and like any project you undertake, having the right tools for the job makes all the difference. For beginners, a stick welder is the most popular option.

Where Does the Stick Welder Fit In Among the Various Welding Techniques?

There are basically four types of welding tools and techniques used by professionals. They are MIG welding, TIG welding, Oxygen/Acetylene welding and Arc welding. Arc welding is also known as stick welding. Each technique is different and has it benefits and drawbacks.

The reason stick welding is so popular among home-shop welders is because it is the most efficient way to weld many types of metals and alloys. It is also versatile in that a stick welder can weld inside or outside.

A stick welder can also weld in drafty areas, which is not so common in welding. Furthermore, they can work with rusty or dusty metals. Again, a major plus, especially when completing home projects.

How a Stick Welder Forms a Weld

In stick welding, an electric current flows unswervingly between a gap between the metal and the “stick” of the arc-welding electrode. This heat current melts part of the electrode, when then mixes with the metal of the work piece to form the weld.

The weld produced has a protective shield around its arc. This is formed from the flux coating of the heat-producing electrode.

The felony murder rule is a law that can be used to charge someone with first degree murder if a murder occurs during a forcible felony no matter if there is premeditation or not. A forcible felony includes felonious child endangerment, assault, murder, sexual abuse, kidnapping, robbery, arson in the first degree, and burglary in the first degree. Basically any murder can become a charge of first degree murder no matter what the circumstances. There is a reason we have multiple levels of punishment for murder including first degree murder, second degree murder, and voluntary manslaughter. Not every murder deserves the same punishment and the felony murder rule does away with these distinctions and makes pretty much all murder a possible first degree murder charge.

Don’t believe me, well look closely at what constitutes a forcible felony. Assault is one of them. Tell me, how is it possible to committee murder without first assaulting them? If you hit someone with any kind of weapon or object isn’t that considered assault, if you point a gun at someone and then shoot them isn’t pointing a gun at someone considered assault? Is there anyway to committee murder without first assaulting them, I can’t think of one.

What is worse is that this law can be used on anyone who had any knowledge or was with the person who actually committed a murder. How can one person be responsible for the actions of another human being? Yes there are instances where this rule should apply. For example if you go into a gas station armed with the intent to rob it with someone else who ends up shooting and killing clerk you should be responsible for that persons death, but if you had no intention of committing a crime why should you be responsible for someone else’s actions. For example in Florida a young man lent his car to a couple of friends who took his car committed a robbery and murder without his knowledge and now this young man sits in prison without possibility of parole.  How is this fair? How is this justice?

With the recent signing of Bill 1473 on September 30th 2008, the state of California adopts the continued use of uniform mechanical and plumbing codes developed by the International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials. This effectively puts to rest the annual fight over whether these codes are updated through legislation or recommendation by the governing bodies. This new law will protect the integrity of current standards, and allows for updates to the codes to be instituted once approved.

Now that the rules have changed, more money can be saved by plumbers in L.A. who are associated with organizations who supported the fight each year the issue was raised. Moving ahead is sometimes a slow process, but for plumbers in L.A., the fight to protect the current rules of regulation will allow for faster improvements to existing regulations which will progress the advancement of green technologies and methods of better dealing with waste water disposal of grey waters.

Plumbers in LA work in an environment of change. When you call a plumber in L.A., you should know that the best plumbers have received training in the latest methods of system construction and repair. From fiber optic cameras which can detect and record blockages, to new methods of waste water disposal systems which can reduce the contamination of water supplies, California will take the lead with new techniques for water conservation and waste water disposal. Thanks to Governor Schwarzenegger, plumbers in L.A. have the proper regulation and mandates which will keep L.A.’s water systems safe well in to the future.

Specific direct mortgage marketing studies have indicated that 80 percent of most sales are made after the fifth contact has been made and there is no doubt that the most important connection is the very first one. First impressions do apply to mortgage brokers in business as it will to anyone else in day-to-day living. Therein lies the importance of knowing the essential tips for marketing mortgages via direct mail.

Direct mail marketing pieces can either light up your world to new customers or send you crashing into the guardrail. You can take charge of your destiny by putting into place the following proven method of direct mortgage marketing techniques.
Your direct marketing material should be well organized around one relevant offer. If you are targeting seniors, create an offer that matches their needs. If sub prime mortgage marketing is your game, tap into the hopes (or fears) of the bad credit borrowers. Maximize the importance of your pitch by focusing on the benefits they bring to users instead of on the features. One feature, for example, would be a low, fixed monthly payment. Having more money in there pocket and greater financial freedom is a huge benefit to a consumer.

Your not done just because you have sparked interest with a relevant offer. Direct mail recipients are typically skeptical; they are often worried about being cheated or sold something that really did not want. Take steps to address these tensions by incorporating trust building tools like guarantees, risk free offers, or customer testimonials in your direct mail piece.
Be clear about how and when you would like your reader to respond. Whenever possible, give them a deadline. You can accomplish this by offering a free gift or free information in return for a timely response. Tell your reader specifically what the next step will be. Should they make a phone call for more information, or, should they send back a business reply card?

Finally, the experts do recommend using a postscript to sum up your offer. Be sure to word your P.S. carefully.  Studies show that this can be one of the first items read on a page.
Be brief, organized, and conversational. Ideally, your writing should be balance and sincerity. Use bullet points and white space to make the information less intimidating, but do not disappear from the communication, convey who you are with a relaxed and sincere voice.

Now you are ready to walk down the golden road. When those leads start coming in, go for the sale by being direct.

Many people would like to know the secret of the perfectly-cook steak. Questions people often have about meat run the gamut: should steak be marinated? Is it best cooked on the grill or under the broiler? And how long should I let the meat rest after cooking? The answers to these questions unfortunately depend mostly upon personal preference. Yet there are a couple of truisms about steak cookery that will guarantee great results: starting with the best meat and using the best technique.

Regardless of which steak recipes you are using, starting with the best steaks  is the only way to have a shot at making the best steak. Your best bet is probably to try ordering steaks from Chicago either by mail order or online; I have received nothing but the finest beef when I’ve ordered from the Midwest.

As far as technique goes, there are a number of approaches to steak cookery. First, a good steak can be made in a pan. For the best results, the pan is heated until it’s truly smoking hot; a 50/50 mixture of oil and clarified butter is added until it smokes, and the thoroughly seasoned steak is added. From there it is cooked on each side until brown/black or until it develops a crispy crust. From there, it is either done cooking or should go into a hot oven – 450-500 degrees to finish. Second, steak can be cooked entirely under the broiler. This requires more finesse and watchful eye, but will generally produce results closest to the steakhouse. The broiler needs to be as hot as possible and steak needs to be an appropriate distance whereby it will form a crust on each side without overcooking on the inside. If it’s hard to assess the proper distance, you can achieve good results by charring the steak close to a hot broiler before finishing it in a hot oven or finishing at a further distance from a cooler broiler. Lastly, grilling a steak follows roughly the same approach as the other methods: you first want to form a good crust on the outside by searing in the juices with a high temperature. The remainder of the cooking should be done by moving the steak to colder part of the grill and covering until cooked to desired doneness.

While there will always be disagreement as to the best steak recipe, there is no doubt that the proper cooking of steak always has two things in common: it starts with the best quality beef available and employs a method that locks in juices at high heat and finishes cooking the meat through at a lower temperature.

Just because California is known for sunny beaches and sun-tanned girls, the truth about California’s climate is that is can get good and cold in the Sunshine State. The need for climate controls in homes and offices is the same as anywhere that has fluctuations in climate temperatures which drop below and raise above normal comfort levels of most people. For those who use heating when it gets cold, and air conditioning when it gets hot, you rely on the same type of equipment that is in use around the country. What separates California from other states in the Union, is the fact that a need to reduce emissions and raise awareness to conservation is being mandated by laws which regulate the types of equipment in use, and how they are installed and maintained in the future. As more rules are approved, Californians may see that the way they heat and cool their spaces is affected by conservation initiatives which change with each new season.

All this concern about electricity and conservation comes from the inability for California’s infrastructure to handle a heavy load of electrical demand from its population. Heaters, air conditioners, cars, and equipment all put a strain on the state’s ability to manage its resources. As more and more citizens take action against the future decline in service standards, they become a part of a larger solution to California’s environmental concerns. Only through the proper management of California heating and cooling systems will the government be able to control the skyrocketing increase in pollutants and environmental threats that are created by the use of old air conditioning and heating methods. While it is always important to protect yourself and your property from freeze and frost, California will be the one to determine the best way to get your protection.

Many artists have wanted an easy way to transfer and outline or design feature onto another tablet or design board without a way to do it effectively. If you find that this happens to you, look into an opaque projector which is a perfect tool for transferring drawings onto other objects including canvas, walls or other locations from where you can create a duplicate if needed. The predecessor to the overhead projector, an the opaque type projector uses light from above rather than light from below to project an image from a distance. Many artists use this tool to take notes and doodles from the scrap sheet to the work sheet and many great artistic productions have come from this type of transfer of idea to drawing board. More than a tool for presentation like the overhead projector, an opaque projector is recommended for artists who can utilize the features of this type of projection which include enlargement, reduction, and focus.

The opaque projector has certain features which make it harder to operate. Because the light source comes from the top rather than the bottom, it takes a brighter light to create the transfer of design. Always remember to check the materials you work with so that the temperatures do not exceed the limits of the items you will be duplicating through projection. These projectors are best suited for books, line drawings, creative and mechanical drawings which need a sharp focus during use in a projector. Artists who require the intricate details to shine bright on a canvas, or board, an opaque projector has just the right features to work perfectly in the artists shop or designer studio. Creatively projecting images and lines with clarity is the purpose of this early overhead projector which is not an overhead projector at all.

Now, more than ever, if your business or personal finances are not in order, you could lose more than a few dollars. A credit crunch is being squeezed on all world economies and national banks are imposing stricter rules and regulations upon its citizens who they rely on to be depositors and account holders. While governments struggle to fight off the ever present recession (depression?), the first signs of trouble came from the financial sectors of the world’s financially developed countries.

As the value of the world was decreased, the losses of national banks have caused governments to become more involved in everyday banking business. The world should know that banking where you live will no longer offer the best option to protect your assets when times get rough. By using off shore banking, people will be able to take back the control once enjoyed by citizens and banking customers.

What we have lost during this time of economic strife is more than value in the currency we use and the companies we build. We are losing the ability to remain anonymous, thus taking away our right to capitalism as we once knew it. Off shore banking is one way to choose the best strategy of banking regulation which will allow you to continue to be successful. Using offshore private banking as an equity and investment tool can also protect your heir’s right to your legacy after you are gone. Banking on offshore protection for your private or business financial needs is one way to get out of the trouble your country may be in, but it must be well advised under any condition for the best results.

What’s a woman working in real estate to do? Social networking as a phenomenon has had huge ramifications for social and business interactions alike. In the social sphere, social networking sites have allowed the summarizing of peoples’ lives to just one page, turning them into objects that we choose as friends in order to also define ourselves. And in the business sphere, networking sites often translate into meaningful business relationships – sales, partnerships, employment, to name a few.

Yet there was no site devoted to networking for women until the recent launch of a witty site that is aimed at capturing this niche. The company aims to serve this completely underserved segment to allow women professionals the opportunity to leverage each others’ knowledge and relationships much in the same way that men have done using LinkedIn and other resources.

Men may be somewhat skeptical of the idea of a site especially for women – after all, other sites aren’t exclusive by gender. But skeptics fail to realize that in cyberspace, professional women are women first to any would-be acquaintances, so a network restricted to women will ensure that relationships stay professional – and in line.

Making sales in the IT business is no easy task. Since the vast majority of IT solutions are implemented either internally or by consulting organizations that custom “solutions” (aka your competitor’s product), you have little ability to influence decision-makers at firms when it comes to software and hardware. Wouldn’t it be nice if there were a way for you to access decision makers when it comes to the purchase of their company’s IT products?

Finally, someone had the idea of creating a tool specifically for the IT industry that will allow salespeople and marketing personnel to access company profiles and target companies’ decision makers with e-mail, phone, or in-person sales pitches. Much like the sales force for IT, this service will generate hundreds of sales leads as the administrators of the database compile information about which companies are looking for or will require IT solutions in the near future.

Don’t let the monopoly on IT products held by consultants and IT departments stop you from pushing your product to IT professionals. Use a sales tool and watch the orders roll in as you tap into one of the most reliable and exclusive sales lead databases in the business.
